Arrival in Frankfurt

(Report filed by Roger Samuel at 1:00 p.m. Frankfurt time, 4:00 a.m. Pacific.)

The CYMO Orchestra had an excellent flight and arrived in Frankfurt at 11:00 a.m. Frankfurt time (2:00 a.m. Pacific). Many managed to sleep some on the plane. Everything was coodinated just right in the airport. The orchestra members were "just perfect." The buses were waiting to pick them up. The loading of the busses went very smoothly and the weather in Frankfurt was "perfect." They're having a wonderful time, and Roger was very excited.

They had already made the first leg of their journey from Frankfurt to Ruedesheim. Roger called from Ruedeshiem where they were having lunch and waiting to cross the Rhine River on a ferry. All three busses will be on the same ferry. Then they will follow the Rhine River to Bacharach where the group will board a ship to take a Rhine River Cruise from Bacharach to St. Goar. Then they will reboard the buses for the remainder of the trip to Heidelberg. On this map of Germany you can see the route that they are taking today.

You can see a live picture of Frankfurt from a NetCam. It is best to view it between 10:00 p.m. and 10:00 a.m. Pacific time when it is daylight in Germany.

If you would like additional information about Frankfurt, it is available on the Web.

Go on to Day Two - Heidelberg.
