22 Members of the Claremont Young Musicians Orchestra Perform in the Los Angeles Philharmonic High School Honor Orchestra

Twenty-two members of the Claremont Young Musicians Orchestra were selected to perform in the Los Angeles Philharmonc Honor Orchestra. The high school musicians performed side-by-side with the Los Angeles Philharmonic on Saturday, March 9, 2000 during "Night Out at the Music Center."

A total of 65 high school musicians from Southern California were selected after extensive auditions held in December. In addition to performance ability, the musicians were required to be in grades 9 to 12, and be a member of their high school music program or a youth orchestra in Los Angeles County. The Claremont Young Musicians Orchestra had the largest representation of members from any school or youth orchestra in the May 9th concert, making up one third of the selected musicians.
